As the Lantern Festival approaches, in order to add to the festive atmosphere of the community, build a platform for mutual communication among residents, and enhance the relationship between parents and children, Xinzhou Community launched a "Lantern Festival Lantern Riddle Party, Waiting for You to Carnival" activity on the afternoon of February 4th, so that residents can feel the warmth of the festival and promote my country's traditional culture through the event.
During the event, community workers explained the origin of the Lantern Festival and folk customs and habits through PPT courseware; Guessing lantern riddles is a reserved item of the Lantern Festival. The riddles are exquisitely designed and the answers are unexpected. The residents and friends who participated in the event sometimes blurted out words and sometimes frowned, adding a sense of thinking to the festive atmosphere.
The most anticipated part is parent-child handmade lanterns and eating glutinous rice balls! The staff explained the lantern making process and precautions while distributing material packages. The scene was very lively, and the children were eager to try. Some carefully folded, pasted, and connected themselves, with their parents helping attentively; some joined in pairs and helped each other. In a cheerful atmosphere, the little rabbit lantern was ready in a short while. Everyone looked at their finished products and marveled at how beautiful they were. Ms. Chen also said: "This activity is great. I can learn knowledge, make things by hand, and celebrate the festival with everyone. It's so happy!" At the end, everyone gathered around with happy faces and tasted the glutinous rice balls cooked by the staff. The steaming glutinous rice balls came into the mouth, and full of blessings rolled in!
After the event, residents lamented that the Lantern Festival was very interesting and meaningful, and they were very grateful to the community workers for their efforts.
