On the afternoon of February 4, the Sanlian Community Party Committee, Changqing University for the Aged, and the Party-Mass Service Center launched the "Happy Lantern Festival" activity at the Sanlian Community Elderly Activity Center. This event attracted 20 community elders from the community to participate.
At the beginning of the activity, social workers sent holiday greetings and blessings to the elders, guided them to practice shoulder and neck exercises to warm up and exercise their physical coordination, and then introduced themselves to new friends. Amidst laughter and laughter, the elders looked for each other's fellow villagers. After getting acquainted with each other, we entered the interactive session of making glutinous rice balls. The social workers guided the elders to work together in groups, and soon they made colorful small glutinous rice balls. The crystal clear boiled glutinous rice balls looked particularly festive and attractive... While waiting for the glutinous rice balls to be cooked, the elders from the social worker office took them to the lantern riddle area. After explaining the rules of the riddle guessing activity, the elders rushed into the lantern riddle area to watch the riddles and guess lantern riddles. The riddles include idioms, word puzzles, animals, plants, objects, etc. After some hard thinking, all the riddles were quickly sold out. Everyone lined up to wait for the answers to be revealed and to redeem small prizes. The scene presented a lively and peaceful atmosphere.
Finally, the social worker guided the elders to taste the hot glutinous rice dumplings and shared their experience of the event. The elders said: "The Lantern Festival was accompanied by friends, there were fun lantern riddles, delicious glutinous rice dumplings, and prizes. It was a great time!" In order to express their joy, the elders happily sang cheerful songs after eating the glutinous rice dumplings. The happy Lantern Festival event ended successfully with the singing of the elders.
