The Lantern Festival is approaching. On this day that symbolizes reunion and entrusts good wishes, we will enrich the festival cultural life of community residents and further inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture. On the afternoon of February 3, 2023, under the leadership of the Shanxia Community Party Committee, the Shanxia Community Party and Mass Service Center and the Shanxia Community New Era Civilization Practice Station launched a happy Lantern Festival event.
"Drawing time is round, writing time is square, winter time is short, summer time is long (type one word)"...In the lantern guessing fan area, strings of red lanterns are hung high, colorful riddle papers are fluttering in the wind, and all kinds of riddles are displayed in front of you. The participants actively communicated or bowed their heads in deep thought. They paused and pondered in front of each riddle and showed off their talents. Some teamwork, the whole family joins the battle, some discuss in small groups to solve the mystery, and some use WeChat videos to ask family members for help. In a short time, all the riddles were answered, and everyone happily claimed their prizes holding the lantern riddles they had guessed. In the lantern DIY area, participants received lantern DIY material packages in an orderly manner and listened to social workers explain the traditional culture and folk customs of the Lantern Festival, as well as how to make lanterns. I couldn't wait to make my own lantern immediately. The whole production process was novel and interesting. I didn't forget to take photos after the production was completed. The event was very lively and I felt a strong festive atmosphere.
Resident Uncle Li told the social worker: "The lantern riddle guessing activity is very meaningful. It not only adds to the festive atmosphere, enriches our cultural life, but also increases the children's extracurricular knowledge. It serves multiple purposes."
