In order to enrich the cultural life of the elders in the community, On the morning of February 3, 2023, the Lihu Party and Mass Service Center, in conjunction with the Lihu Community New Era Civilization Practice Station and the Lihu Branch of Neptune Xingchen Pharmacy, launched the "Colorful Activities to Celebrate the Lantern Festival·Respect, Love, and Provide Health" - Lihu Community Elders Helping the Elderly Service Activity, which attracted a total of 20 community elders to participate.
At the beginning of the activity, the social worker introduced the content and rules of the activity and then led everyone to play "Yuanxiao Round and Round" finger exercises. The elders studied very seriously, followed the movements together, and chanted the words. After finishing, they couldn't help laughing!
After the finger exercise game, the social worker also led everyone to play a lantern riddle game. Looking at the riddles one after another, the elders were eager to try and took the challenge one after another. Everyone was thinking actively, discussing enthusiastically, laughing heartily from time to time, and sharing the fun brought by lantern riddles.
Then, the social worker used PPT to learn about the Lantern Festival, one of the traditional Chinese cultural festivals, with, and shared with each other the interesting Lantern Festival customs in their hometowns. Everyone exchanged words with each other, and the scene was so harmonious! Later, under the patient guidance of the flower arrangement teacher, the elders learned to arrange flowers together.
After the flower arrangement, the social worker then talked with everyone about how the elderly can maintain good health and health in the post-epidemic era. They explained and shared from many aspects such as psychological adjustment, dietary maintenance, daily life adjustment, exercise and health care, etc., and invited the pharmacists from the Lihu branch of Neptune Star Pharmacy to measure blood pressure and provide health consultation for everyone.
Finally, as the steaming and fragrant glutinous rice balls came out of the pot, everyone gathered together to taste the sweet glutinous rice balls, with a satisfied smile on everyone's face! When sharing the activity, the elders expressed their great achievements in participating in this activity. One of them, Aunt Ren, said that this activity made her feel the deep love and care from the society, feel the warmth of family members, and make new friends, which made her very happy.
It is reported that the launch of this activity allows the elders to feel the cultural fun of the traditional Lantern Festival in a joyful atmosphere, enhances the elders' sense of gain and happiness, promotes the physical and mental health of the elders in the community, and also brings closer the neighborliness among community residents.
