Parties and enterprises in Xiazao community gather to celebrate the Lantern Festival
The Lantern Festival is approaching. In order to create a festive, joyful and peaceful festival atmosphere, on February 3, 2023, with the support and guidance of the Gaofeng Community Party Committee, Xiazao Community launched a community celebration of the Lantern Festival with the theme of "Lucky Rabbits Bring Fortune, Happy Lantern Festival" to further inherit Chinese traditional culture.
In this event, the community specially invited 30 social self-organizations, enterprises, volunteers and key residents of the community to make Hakka special salty bone glutinous rice balls together. After the event started, under the leadership of Comrade Xie Yonglan, deputy director of the Xiazao Community Neighborhood Committee, everyone was busy kneading noodles and preparing ingredients for soup such as ribs, dried shrimps, radish, celery, and chopped green onion. Some people rolled up their sleeves and prepared to roll the glutinous rice balls after the flour was mixed. Others chopped firewood, washed the pot, lit a fire, and waited to put the glutinous rice balls into the pot for cooking. The whole process was divided into orderly tasks. After a while, pots of hot glutinous rice balls were placed in front of everyone. At the scene, Comrade Huang Mengshan, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xiazao Joint-stock Cooperative Company, sat around with everyone. Everyone tasted the glutinous rice balls made by themselves and felt happy. "Celebrate the Lantern Festival, cook glutinous rice balls, and feel full of joy at the reunion of flesh and blood. Men, women, old and young gather around the table and eat Shangyuan Wan together as a family." A bowl of steaming glutinous rice balls not only satisfies the taste buds, but also represents the spread and accumulation of traditional Chinese culture.
In addition, social workers also carefully prepared the Lantern Festival. Together with members of the Gaofeng Community Party Committee, enterprises and volunteers, they brought cooked glutinous rice balls to express condolences to the 25 elderly people, disabled people and veterans in the "grid", expressing their greetings and blessings for the Lantern Festival.
The social worker in charge of the event said: "Through the implementation of this event, we hope that the people who serve the community can feel the warmth and enthusiasm of the community. We also hope that it can further boost the spirit of the community, activate development vitality, and better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of community party members."
